A decade of HINTS. Quantifying the Health Information Revolution through Data Innovation and Collaboration

Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS) Users Meeting
January 9-10, 2014 | Rockville, Maryland

Sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the meeting will focus on research using HINTS data and the application of HINTS research to public health and clinical care.

Welcome to the 2014 HINTS Users Meeting Home Page

Since it began in 2003, the HINTS program has been tracking vital statistics related to the public’s attitudes, knowledge, and behaviors related to cancer prevention and control (such as screening, physical activity, and health literacy, with an emphasis on information technology and consumer health informatics). With data and results from six HINTS survey administrations--including HINTS Puerto Rico--over the course of a decade (and additional data to come) we will have a lot to talk about!

The meeting will have something for everyone – if you are a researcher who uses HINTS data (or who wants to learn how), you’ll want to see the presentations of cutting-edge research on the evolving health information environment; special populations; and data integration. For our colleagues who use HINTS to inform clinical practice, public health activities, or communication strategies, meeting activities will also spotlight how HINTS research can be leveraged to improve practice. Take a moment to view our agenda to learn more about what else we have planned (data “blitzes,” a video contest, and a series of Bold Ideas presentations).

We look forward to seeing you in January! If you have any questions or if we can be of help as you plan your trip, please feel free to contact us at NCIHINTS@nih.gov.

Sincerely,
